By making a booking for the Mayor's Long Lunch, all guests in the party agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read these carefully before booking.
01 Overview & Eligibility
- The Mayor's Long Lunch is a weekend dining experience offered exclusively by The Mayor of Ale Kitchen, located at 22 Riccarton Road, Christchurch.
- The experience is available on Saturdays and Sundays only, with bookings accepted between 11:00am and 1:00pm. 1:00pm is the last accepted booking time.
- The experience includes a shared food platter for the table and a choice of beverage package (Alcoholic or Non-Alcoholic).
- All guests in the party must select the same package (Alcoholic or Non-Alcoholic) at the time of booking. Mixed-package bookings are not permitted.
- By making a booking, all guests confirm they have read and agree to these Terms and Conditions.
02 Bookings & Reservations
- All bookings must be made in advance. Walk-in requests for the Long Lunch are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed.
- A minimum of 4 guests is required per booking. Bookings for fewer than 4 guests will not be accepted.
- Bookings are available between 11:00am and 1:00pm on Saturdays and Sundays only. 1:00pm is the last accepted booking time.
- The Mayor of Ale reserves the right to cancel or amend bookings at any time where necessary, including due to unforeseen circumstances, low numbers, or venue requirements.

03 Time Limits
- Each booking is subject to a strict 2-hour time limit.
- The 2-hour period begins at your confirmed booking time, regardless of when guests arrive. Late arrival does not result in an extension.
- We are unable to extend seating time beyond the 2-hour limit to accommodate the needs of other bookings and operations.
- Guests who have not vacated their table at the end of their 2-hour period may be politely asked to move to the bar area, subject to availability.
04 Food Service
- All guests will receive a shared platter to the table, which includes: Onion Rings, Bao Buns, Focaccia Bread, Calamari, Crispy Fried Chicken, Crackers and Dips, and Chips with Curry Sauce and Gravy.
- Food is intended to be shared among all guests at the table. The platter is set and no substitutions, additions, or individual modifications are included in the package price.
- Dietary requirements and allergies must be communicated at the time of booking. While we will make every effort to accommodate, we cannot guarantee a fully allergen-free environment.
- Additional food items may be ordered from the standard menu at an additional cost.
05 Beverage Service
- Non-Alcoholic Package ($50 per person): Guests will have access to mocktails (redeemed by token), juices, coffee, and soft drinks throughout the 2-hour seating period.
- Alcoholic Package ($70 per person): Guests will have access to:
- Flowing Prosecco / Mimosa: Topped up by our staff throughout the 2-hour seating period.
- Beer & Cider Selection: Speights, Speights Ultra, Tiger, and Cider available on request.
- 1 Drink Per Person at a Time: Only 1 drink per person will be served at any one time.
- Managed Prosecco Service: Service is subject to our Responsible Service of Alcohol policy and staff discretion.
- We reserve the right to slow down or cease Prosecco service to any individual or table if deemed necessary.
- Staff decisions regarding beverage service are final and not subject to negotiation.
- All beverage service is subject to the Responsible Service of Alcohol policy outlined in Section 6.
06 Responsible Service of Alcohol & Staff Discretion
- We are a licensed venue committed to the responsible service of alcohol under the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012.
- Our paramount responsibility is the safety and wellbeing of our guests and staff.
- Staff Discretion is Absolute: Our staff are empowered to slow, pause, or cease service to any individual or table. Their decision is final.
- Prevent intoxication.
- Refuse service to anyone who appears intoxicated or behaves in a disorderly, offensive, or disrespectful manner.
- Refuse service where there is concern alcohol may be supplied to minors or already intoxicated persons.
- Any guest refused service due to intoxication or behaviour will not be entitled to a refund for unused beverage inclusions.
07 Pricing & Payment
- Alcoholic Package: $70 per person. Includes shared platter and beverage service as described.
- Non-Alcoholic Package: $50 per person. Includes shared platter and non-alcoholic beverage service as described.
- Pricing is per person. All guests at a table must select the same package.
- All prices are inclusive of GST.
- The Mayor of Ale reserves the right to require a deposit or full pre-payment for large group bookings.
- The Mayor of Ale reserves the right to amend pricing at any time with reasonable notice.
08 Guest Conduct & General
- The Mayor of Ale reserves the right to refuse entry or remove any guest whose behaviour is deemed inappropriate, disruptive, or in breach of these Terms and Conditions, without any entitlement to a refund.
- All guests are expected to treat staff and fellow patrons with respect. Abusive, threatening, or disrespectful behaviour will not be tolerated.
- These Terms and Conditions are subject to change without notice. The most current version will always be available on our website.
